Kshitij has been running for about 5 years, of which 4 with the club. He joined the committee in 2026 as Treasurer.

“Kippax Harriers is such a welcoming club, and I love the fact that there is always someone you can buddy up with for your run. Running helps me get some fresh air and exercise, at the same time allowing me to think through things with greater clarity and often providing solutions to nagging issues.”

Membership Secretary – Abigail Hicks

Ladies’ Captain – Lucie Stanworth

Lucie joined Kippax Harriers in 2022 after signing up for the Great North Run and quickly found that running with a supportive group transformed her ad‑hoc training into a lasting habit. She’s since become an active member of the club and the committee, taking part in everything from social runs to local race events.

“I love the mix of encouragement, humour, and genuine community spirit you get at every run. Being part of Kippax Harriers makes every mile more enjoyable and every event feel like a team effort.”

Ladies’ Vice Captain – Rachel Davison

Rachel Davison

Rachel has been running on and off for about 17 years, but really found her rhythm over the last four. She joined Kippax Harriers in 2023 after completing the beginners course and has been a regular ever since.

“I like club for how inclusive it is. You don’t have to be the quickest or fittest, every achievement is a win. Also everyone is super friendly and encouraging!”

Men’s Captain – Adrian Brookes

Adrian started running in 2018 after signing up for a charity challenge, tackling the Yorkshire 10 Mile as his first race. He joined Kippax Harriers two years ago, quickly settling into the club and the committee thanks to the warm welcome and the motivation of running with others.

“Running has become something I genuinely enjoy, especially with the support and company of the club. Race days with Kippax always push me to improve, and I’m excited for an even faster, fitter season ahead.”

Men’s Vice Captain – Adam Walker

Adam Walker

A late convert to running after years of football injuries, Adam found his stride on local trails and completed his first parkrun in 2020. After building up to regular parkruns and 10Ks, he joined Kippax Harriers in spring 2025 to boost his miles and has quickly become an active part of the club.

“I love the social side of running and being part of a team at club events — and I’ll never say no to the occasional pint after a run. Joining the committee feels like a great way to give back the same support I’ve had since day one.”

Kit Secretary – James Bland

Social Secretary – Kirsty Harley

Kirsty joined the Kippax Harriers beginners course in April 2024 with no running experience and, after returning to the club later that year, quickly progressed from local cross‑country races to completing 15 events in 2025, including four half marathons. She’s now a committed club and committee member, and is proud to have run her first marathon – Leeds Marathon 2026.

“Running with Kippax Harriers has genuinely changed my life for the better. The support, encouragement, and belief from everyone at the club made me realise I’m capable of far more than I ever imagined.”

Christine Hague

Christine tried running on and off for about 20 years, but it finally stuck after joining Kippax Harriers. After completing the beginners course in 2024, she’s been a regular and enthusiastic member ever since.

“I’ve met so many new friends through the club, and running with others keeps me motivated. It’s great being part of a team that does events and races — it just makes the whole thing more fun.”
